Chief Minister Presents Rs 3 Lakh 10 Thousand Crore Budget : The budget for the financial year 2026-27 was presented in the Assembly on Friday. The Chief Minister presented a total budget of Rs 3 lakh 10 crore. This time, he announced that 2 more government engineering colleges will be opened in the state. Along with this, the Chief Minister announced the opening of 5 new medical colleges. Out of the 2 government engineering colleges, one will be established in Paradiveep and the other in Balangir. Similarly, the Chief Minister said that an allocation of Rs 500 crore has been made for the ITI scheme.
Out of the 5 new medical colleges, 3 will be Ayurvedic medical colleges and 2 will be Homeopathy colleges. Ayurvedic medical colleges will be opened in Gajapati, Malkangiri, Rayagada. 2 will be Homeopathy colleges in Nayagarh and Nuapada. An allocation of Rs 140 crore has been made for these 5 new medical colleges. Similarly, the Chief Minister announced the opening of 5 new language units in the budget. These units will be opened in Puri, Burla, Koraput, Berhampur and Capital Hospitals. An allocation of Rs 200 crore has been made for 5 new units. The budget proposes to increase medical PG seats by 500 in the next 2 years. The Chief Minister has announced Rs 1,000 crore for the redevelopment of Cuttack SCB and Rs 600 crore for Berhampur MKCG and Burla Bhimsar. An allocation of Rs 23,182 crore has been made for the Health and Family Welfare Department.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday said that a major step has been taken in the budget 2026-27 to ensure the social and economic security of women and children in Odisha. He said that the state government is giving importance to women empowerment. While presenting the budget for the upcoming fiscal year, he said in the House that huge funds have been provided to make women self-reliant and lead a dignified life. Along with this, special emphasis has been given to eliminate malnutrition among pregnant women, adolescents and children, and necessary facilities have been ensured for the transformation of Anganwadi centers and pre-school education of children. The government said that the main objective of this budget is to build a strong and prosperous society through good health of mothers and children and women empowerment.

Rs 1,280 crore for the state government’s
Samriddh Anganwadi Yojana, Rs 635 crore for
the Chief Minister’s Sampurna Pushti Yojana, Rs 552 crore for
the Malati Devi Pre-School Admission Scheme, Rs 111 crore for the Malati Devi Pre-School Admission Scheme,
and four more new universities will be established in the state. The government will establish four new universities at the district headquarters of Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Bhadrak and Jharsuguda. Post-graduate education will be provided here as per NEP-2020. This was announced by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi while presenting the budget for the financial year 2026-27 in the Assembly. Seven campuses of World Skill Centres will be established by 2047 and five more campuses will be established before 2036. Two new campuses will be established in Sambalpur and Berhampur at a cost of Rs 278 crore. Two new government engineering colleges will be established in Paradweep and Balangir. An allocation of Rs 500 crore has been made for the ITI scheme.
