‘Modi Hug’ Symbolizes Strong India–Israel Bond, Says Netanyahu: In a moment filled with symbolism and emotion, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi received an extraordinary welcome at Israel’s Parliament, the Knesset, during his historic two-day visit to Israel.
As PM Modi entered the Knesset chamber, the entire hall resonated with chants of “Modi, Modi.” Members of Parliament rose to their feet in a rare show of warmth and admiration. It was more than a diplomatic gesture — it was a moment reflecting the growing closeness between India and Israel.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered an emotional speech, describing PM Modi not just as a trusted partner but as a “dear friend” and even a “brother.” Standing beside Modi in Jerusalem, Netanyahu said he was deeply moved by the visit and praised Modi’s leadership on the global stage.

Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in economic growth, defense partnerships, technology exchange, and security collaboration. Netanyahu emphasized that Modi’s visit marks a proud and defining chapter in India–Israel relations.
In his address, Netanyahu also highlighted India’s long history of harmony with Jewish communities. At a time when anti-Semitism is rising in several parts of the world, he noted that India stands out as a civilization where Jews were never persecuted but welcomed and respected. “We never forget this,” Netanyahu said, expressing gratitude to India.
