Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections: The BJP on Friday released its list of candidates for the Tamil Nadu assembly elections. However, the name of the party’s former state president K. Annamalai is not in the list. Amidst confusion over the selection of candidates, the BJP has announced the names of 27 candidates.
Nainar Naganthran, who is currently the party’s state president, is contesting from Sattur, while Union Minister and Rajya Sabha member L. Murugan has been given a ticket for the non-viable seat.
Former Congress leader Tamilisai Soundararajan has been nominated from Mysore, while M. Rajasimhan will contest from Mahindra Avadi. While there is speculation that Annamalai will contest from Coimbatore (North) or Modakkurichi seats, her name is not in the said list.
