Odia Movie Mantramugdha Makes A Strong Entry At The Box Office : It Earned Rs 21.51 Lakh On The First Day : Ollywood first full-fledged horror-comedy film ‘Mantramugdha’, which is a mind-blowing blend of horror and comedy, has started its journey at the box office with a bang. The film, which released across Odisha on May 1, has won the hearts of the audience and has earned Rs 21.51 lakh on the first day of its release. This huge collection has been described by film critics as a “bombastic opening” by the production house, which indicates the positive response of the audience to the film.
Directed by National Film Award-winning director Anupam Patnaik, the film has been released in more than 70 theatres in the state and across the country. Not only in Odisha, but also in cities like Bengaluru and Hyderabad, it has expanded the reach of Odia cinema through special screenings.
Produced under the banner of Amiya Patnaik Productions, the film stars young and talented actors like Sarthak, Sanoj, Manmay, Deepanbit, Phalkareem and Suryamayi. Even before its release, there was a lot of excitement among the audience about the film. Its trailer received more than 1 million views on YouTube, while the song ‘Doba Ree Paas’ featuring popular comedian Pappu Pampam was successful in winning the hearts of the audience.
The story of ‘Mantramugdha’ revolves around a group of friends who visit a mysterious palace, where they encounter supernatural and terrifying events. The film has a unique blend of horror, humor, suspense and music. The film has been certified ‘U/A’, proving to be a 100% family entertainer. Bollywood ‘Stree’ fame actor Abhishek Banerjee also shared the trailer of the film on his social media, which made it a national hit. Gopal Chandra Ghadai is the executive producer, while Pranay Jethi, the creative head of Media Plan, is the head of publicity and promotion.
After this huge business on the first day, now the eyes of trade experts and film critics are on the upcoming weekend i.e. Saturday and Sunday. It is expected that the box office collection of this film will increase further in the coming days due to the ‘word of mouth’ publicity from the audience.
