Pune Fort Murder: How Siya and Her Boyfriend Killed Ketan: Pune-based real estate businessman Ketan Agarwal’s death shocked many, but police investigations revealed an alleged conspiracy involving his fiancée, Siya Goyal, and her lover, Chetan Chauhan. The two have been arrested and are currently in police custody.
According to investigators, Siya did not want to marry Ketan and had been planning to get rid of him for weeks. Ketan and Siya got engaged in February 2026, but police believe the murder plot was first conceived during a visit to Lohagad Fort on May 31. Investigators claim Siya made two failed attempts to kill Ketan before the final incident.
One of those attempts allegedly involved destroying Ketan’s passport, leading to the cancellation of a planned Bali trip for a pre-wedding celebration and Siya’s birthday. In another incident, Siya allegedly pushed Ketan during an outing, but he managed to save himself by grabbing a tree. She reportedly convinced him that she was trying to protect him from a snake.
On June 18, a day before her birthday, Siya persuaded Ketan and his family to allow another trip to Lohagad Fort. Police say Chetan secretly reached the fort, and the duo used a prearranged signal to carry out their plan. Ketan was allegedly pushed into a deep gorge, resulting in his death.
The tragedy has left Ketan’s family devastated. They had been preparing for the couple’s wedding and birthday celebrations, with gifts and bookings already in place. The family is now demanding a fast-track trial and strict punishment for the accused.
