Man stabs wife to death over property dispute: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly stabbed his wife to death over a property dispute. The accused allegedly attempted suicide after the attack by stabbing himself. Currently, his condition is critical, and he is undergoing treatment in the district hospital.
The incident took place in Harra town under Sarurpur police limits in Meerut. The deceased was identified as Nisha Chauhan(40), who was a social media influencer and worked as a beautician.
Circle Officer (Sardhana) Ashutosh Kumar said police received information about the murder on Friday morning. He reached the spot along with some senior officers and a forensic team. According to neighbors, a heated argument started between Nisha and her husband Pradeep around 6 am on Friday. The argument escalated so much that Pradeep dragged Nisha from bedroom to the hall. He allegedly stabbed her multiple times, resulting her death. The couple’s 17-year-old child sustained minor injuries while trying to intervene, police said. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination and further investigation is underway.
Station House Officer Gaurav Singh said the dispute was allegedly related to the ownership of a plot of land, with both husband and wife wanting it to be registered in their respective names.
