16 metro stations shut amid CJP protest: Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has taken a big decision in view of the demonstration of Cockroach Janata Party(CJP) in Delhi. For security reasons, 16 metro stations in and around New Delhi have been closed for passengers till further orders.
According to DMRC updates, these 16 stations will remain closed till further instructions, and trains will not stop here. Passengers will still be able to switch metro lines at the three interchange stations for their convenience. Passengers can change from one line to another line at Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House and Central Secretariat stations, but exit or entry will not be allowed from these stations. Major metro stations that will remain shut include: Lok Kalyan Marg, Rajiv Chowk, Patel Chowk, Ramakrishna Ashram Marg, Barakhambha Road, Supreme Court, Sava Teerth, Janpath, Mandi House, Central Secretariat, ITO, Delhi Gate, Indraprastha, Khan Market, Jor Bagh and Shivaji Stadium.
Earlier, on July 20 and 21, the DMRC had closed several metro stations due to the Parliament march of the Cockroach Janata Party. However, due to safety concerns, services were restored at those metro stations over time. Now, commuters are facing problems due to disrupted metro services in Delhi.
