2027 World Cup Qualifier dates announced, 12 teams will participate: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially announced the schedule for the 2027 ODI World Cup. ICC has confirmed the dates of the qualifiers for this tournament. But there is no information about the venue yet.
The ODI World Cup 2027 will be played in a new format, in which 14 teams will participate. The winning team in the qualifiers will directly secure a place in the 14-team group. The second, third and fourth placed teams in the qualifiers will advance to the opening round of the tournament, known as the ‘Super Series’. They will compete for the remaining place in the 12-team tournament, with only the top team qualifying. The 10-team qualifier will be played between February 22 and March 23, 2027, the ICC said.
The 2027 ODI World Cup will be hosted by three countries, including South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. All matches from the World Cup will be played in 12 different stadiums. Most matches will be played in South Africa. Apart from this, 3 venues will be in Zimbabwe and 1 in Namibia. The World Cup will be played between October 4 and November 21, next year.
