US Court Dismisses Criminal Charges Against Gautam Adani And His Nephew: The US court has dismissed, with prejudice, criminal charges against Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani and his nephew Sagar Adani. This means that these charges cannot be re-filed criminally.

Finally, the court’s decision has brought an end to a nearly 2-year-old bribery and securities fraud case. However, the court has not ruled on the truth or falsity of the allegations. The US District Court dismissed the case against Gautam Adani, Sagar Adani, and former CEO of Adani Green, Vineet Jain, after allowing the US Department of Justice’s (DoJ) appeal. They were accused of securities fraud and wire fraud. US prosecutors alleged in November 2024 that Adani and others conspired to pay nearly $250 million in bribes to win solar power contracts in India. However, the Adani Group has consistently dismissed these allegations as baseless.

After the verdict, Gautam Adani in an X post said, ‘ I welcome the US court’s decision with humility an deep respect for the judicial process.’ He said that even in difficult times, his faith remained in truth, fairness and the rule of law.
