Mumbai Landslide: 2 dead, several feared trapped under debris

According to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation(BMC) the landslide was reported at 3:48 am in Gausia Chawl in Chirag Nagar on early Wednesday.

Mumbai Landslide: 2 dead, several feared trapped under debris: At least two people died and several others trapped after a landslide due to heavy rain in Kurla, Mumbai. It is suspected that over 6 people may be buried in the debris. Search and rescue operations are underway.

According to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation(BMC) the landslide was reported at 3:48 am in Gausia Chawl in Chirag Nagar on early Wednesday. As soon as the information was received, Fire Brigade, police, NDRF, ambulance services, and civic ward staff reached the site for search and rescue operations. Several persons were immediately shifted to the hospital for treatment. Their health conditions are now stable, doctors said.

Following the landslide, BMC Mayor Ritu Tawde and additional municipal commissioner(Eastern Suburbs) Avinash Dhakne visited the affected site to access the situation.
