Iran President Masoud Pezeshkian will attend BRICS summit in Delhi

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said, ‘We welcome any constructive role from India.’

Iran President Masoud Pezeshkian will attend BRICS summit in Delhi: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will visit India next month.  He will participate in the 18th BRICS Summit to be held in Delhi on September 12 and 13. This visit is considered very important amid Middle East Tensions. President Pezeshkian will also hold bilateral talks with PM Narendra Modi.

Iran has signalled that it sees India as a potential partner in efforts to ease tensions in West Asia. The conference will be hosted by India under the theme ‘Building for Strength, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability’.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said, ‘We welcome any constructive role from India.’ Earlier in June he came to India to attend the BRICS foreign ministers’ of BRICS countries. At a press conference in New Delhi after the meeting, Araghchi praised India’s growing role in maintaining peace in the world. This diplomatic meeting will make India a strong global player.

Iran is now trying to fully join the financial system of BRICS. This will open up new avenues of trade and investment. Regular committee meetings are also held between India and Iran. India mainly exports rice and tea to Iran. Fresh dry fruits are imported from Iran.
