17 sportspersons named for Arjuna Award 2025

Lifetime Arjuna Award category. This award is given to sportspersons who have given outstanding performance during their active careers.

17 sportspersons named for Arjuna Award 2025: The Centre on Tuesday has announced the National Sports Award 2025. A total of 17 sportsperson have been selected for the prestigious Arjuna Award. Sportspersons from athletics to badminton, Hockey, Chess, shooting, and Kabaddi have been shortlisted.

The Ministry of Youth Affairs, while releasing the list of National Sports Award 2025, said that every year sportspersons, coach and organizations will be honoured for their excellent performance in sports. A selection committee headed by former Supreme Court judge justice(retd.) Arun Kumar Mishra recommended the names of awards this year.

Isaiah Arumainayagam, Dharmendra Singh Yadav of boxing and Virendra Kumar of wrestling will be honored in the lifetime Arjuna Award category. This award is given to sports persons who have given outstanding performance during their active careers. It also recognizes those players who have continued to contribute towards the development of sports even after retirement. Dronacharya award have also been announce in National Sports Awards. Parveer Singh of athletics, Coaches will also get Dronacharya Award

The names of the Dronacharya Award have also been announced in the National Sports Awards. Parveer Singh of athletics, Chhote Lal Yadav of boxing and Neha Nand Kumar Chavan of shooting have been selected in the regular category.
