2 Killed, 5 Injured After Massive Ganesha Idol Falls in Mumbai
Mumbai Ganesha Idol Accident: 2 Dead, 5 Injured in Bhuleshwar: Two people died, and five others were injured after a large Lord Ganesha idol fell while being transported in South Mumbai on Saturday night.
The incident happened around 10 pm on August 22 near Kabutar Khana at Jai Ambe Chowk in Bhuleshwar. The idol was being taken for installation when it suddenly toppled over.
The deceased have been identified as Sanket Navashe (33) and Brijesh Hemant Joshi (30). Among the five injured are two girls aged five and seven. They were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment, and their condition is reported to be stable.
Police, fire brigade teams, ambulances and BMC staff reached the spot and carried out rescue operations. The incident comes ahead of Ganeshotsav, one of Maharashtra’s biggest festivals.
