Several airlines have issued advisories warning that flights may be affected due to bad weather and asked passengers to check their flight status before leaving for the airport.
Flights diverted in Delhi due to heavy rainfall: Flight operations have been disrupted in Delhi-NCR on Monday due to heavy rain. As many as 14 flights from Delhi airport have been diverted to other places. These include 2 international flights.
Heavy rains lashed many parts of Delhi-NCR on Monday, affecting traffic and slowing the movement of vehicles in many parts of the capital region. There was heavy rain in South Delhi and nearby areas. The India Meteorological Department issued a red alert for some districts. Several airlines have issued advisories warning that flights may be affected due to bad weather and asked passengers to check their flight status before leaving for the airport.
According to the IMD, some areas of South East Delhi, East Delhi, Shahdara, Central Delhi, North-East Delhi, South Delhi, New Delhi, South-West Delhi, West Delhi, North-West Delhi and North Delhi are likely to witness heavy rains along with thunderstorms, lightning strikes and wind speed of 30-40 kmph. The Meteorological Department has also predicted moderate rain, thunderstorm and lightning in several areas of Central Delhi, South Delhi, South-West Delhi, West Delhi, North-West Delhi and North Delhi.
