The suspended officials include Deputy Commissioner, Executive Engineer, Superintendent Engineer, Assistant Engineer and Junior Engineer of MCD.
Delhi building collapse: Five MCD officials suspended: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has taken a big action regarding the Satya Niketan building collapse accident in Delhi. At least five Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) officials have been suspended for negligence after the accident.
The suspended officials include Deputy Commissioner, Executive Engineer, Superintendent Engineer, Assistant Engineer and Junior Engineer of MCD. Letters of suspension have been issued to these officials. Rekha Gupta visited the site on Monday and assessed the situation. She also ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident. These officers have been suspended as per separate office orders issued by the Vigilance Department of MCD on 7 September 2026.
1. Rakesh Kumar Deputy Commissioner (South Zone)
2. Ranveer Singh, Superintending Engineer (SE/South Zone)
3. Lalit Kumar Goyal Executive Engineer (EE – Building,South Zone )
4. Sunil Chauhan Assistant Engineer (AE – Building, South Zone)
5. Ashish Kumar Junior Engineer (Building)
They will be entitled to subsistence allowance as admissible under the rules. The suspension orders were signed by Deputy Law Officer (Vigilance) Nand Kishore.
The Delhi Police has formed 10 teams to trace the building owner, who remains untraceable. Police have also issued a Look Out Circular against him.
