American player Ben Shelton has managed to reach the finals of the Grand Slam for the first time in his career. Shelton’s performance at the US Open 2026 saw him defeat veteran Carlos Alcarez in the quarterfinals. In the semi-finals, Shelton beat Tiafoe 3-1 in four sets.
Before 2026, Zverev had reached only three major finals: the 2020 US Open, 2024 French Open and 2025 Australian Open. However, final match will not be easy for Shelton, having lost all five of his previous encounters with Zverev.
