Asian Games Day 6: Roshibina Devi bags silver in Wushu: India remained on spotlight on day-6 of Asian Games 2026. Roshibina Devi claimed a silver medal in Wushu. She lost the final against Zhang Xiaoyu of China in women’s 60 kg Sanda event. Satnam Singh and Salman Khan bagged bronze medal in in the men’s doubles sculls(rowing) final.
In the mixed team skeet event, the duo of Anantjeet Singh Naruka and Parinaaz Dhaliwal have won a bronze medal. After 6 series, they were tied with South Korea on 44 points.
On Wednesday, Roshibina defeated Indonesia’s Thania Kusumaningtyas 2-0 in the semi-final to secure her place in the title clash. This was Roshibina Devi’s 3rd consecutive medal in Asian Games. She had earlier won bronze medal in 2018 and silver medal in 2023. Satnam-Salman maintained the second position at 500m, 1000m and 1500m but fell away towards the end. At one point, they were just half a second behind the Chinese pair. Mirabai Chanu ended her long wait for an Asian Games medal on Wednesday, winning silver in the women’s 49kg weightlifting event.
In men’s singles sculls competitions, Balraj Panwar missed out on a medal, finishing fourth. Balraj managed to stay second at the 500m, 1000m and 1500m marks, but later found himself outdone by Shakhboz Kholmurzaev of Uzbekistan and Tatsuya Sakurama of Japan during the final 500 m stretch, and he lost the medal. In Women’s cricket, India thrashed Sri Lanka to win first ever gold medal in the final in Asian Games 2026. India scored a massive 147-run victory on Tuesday. So far, India has won one gold, six silver, and seven bronze medals.
India is ranked 13th in the medal table. India’s men’s kabaddi team defeated Chinese Taipei 37-21. With this victory, Team India secured a place in the semi-finals of the Asian Games.
