Odisha Assembly adjourned until Friday: Amid continued protests and uproar by the opposition the Odisha Legislative Assembly was adjourned till tomorrow. The speaker’s podium was surrounded by Opposition slogans, making it impossible to conduct the Assembly proceedings. With no order in the House, Deputy Speaker Bhabani Shankar Bhoi adjourned the proceedings till 4 PM today.
The House sat for just four minutes from 4 pm under the chairmanship of Deputy Speaker Bhabani Shankar Bhoi. The Odisha Jan Vishwas bill was passed. The house was then adjourned until 10:30 am Friday.
The Monsoon Session of the Assembly began on September 22, with the Opposition raising the issues of MMDR and alleged errors in textbooks from the very first day. On the second day, the BJD raised the textbook error issue and targeted the government, while the Congress created an uproar over the MMDR issue.
