Saravana Vivek M assumes charge as Bhubaneswar DCP: India Police Service(IPS) officer Dr Saravana Vivek M on Friday has officially assumed charge as the new Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of Bhubaneswar. He succeeds Jagmohan Meena following a fresh administrative reshuffle by the State Home Department.
2015-batch IPS officer Saravana Vivek M, previously served as the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Rayagada and Berhampur. He will oversee the law-and-order situation in Bhubaneswar and focus on maintaining peace and security in the city. During his tenure as Berhampur SP, Saravana Vivek M was known for his efficiency and courage in discharging his duties and had received attention for his performance in handling various policing challenges.
Meanwhile, the government has appointed 2019-batch IPS officer Abhinav Sonkar as the new SP of Berhampur. Sonkar was earlier serving as Dhenkanal SP.
Saravana succeeded Jagmohan Meena, whose resignation from government service was accepted by the Centre on September 11.
