India qualify for semifinals after QF washout: The Indian men’s cricket team advances to semi-final by virtue of superior ICC rankings. The Asian Games 2026 quarter- final match against Afghanistan was called off on Monday due to bad weather.
The India vs Afghanistan Asian Games quarterfinal was abandoned because of persistent rain and waterlogged outfield. India advanced to the semi-finals as they are the higher seeded team in ICC T20I rankings. India is currently the No.1 T20I team while Afghanistan is ranked 10th. The washout means India’s title defence remains alive without the team taking the field in the quarter final.
