Indian women recurve archers strike gold, beat Korea 5-3: The Indian women’s recurve archery team has created history at the Asian Games. The trio of Ankita Bhakat, Keerti and Kumkum won the gold medal by defeating the strong South Korea 5-3 in the final. This is India’s first gold in the women’s recurve team event. With this India’s  medal tally now stands at 67 including 11 Gold, 23 Silver and 33 Bronze.

17-year-old Kumkum Mohod scored excellent goals under pressure and scored 10 points on crucial moments. Ankita Bhagat also took over the team using her experience. Keerthy was under pressure, but the other two archers made up for it. Earlier, India defeated China 5-1 in the women’s recurve team semi-final to reach the final.
