Dipke, Saurabh and Ashutosh detained by Delhi police: Delhi police on Saturday deained the Cockroach Janta Party(CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke and leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka from inside the flight at IGI airport. The development came amid proposed protest at Jantar Mantar, demanding the resignation of chief election commission Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in the SIR process of the electoral rolls.
The CJP issued a statement condemning the detention of the three leaders. It described the action as ‘authoritarian’ and alleged that it violated their ‘freedom of movement’.Abhijeet Dipke said, ‘We have come only to get arrested, arrest us.’ According to police sources, some women police officers entered the plane and tried to convince Abhijeet and his companions not to go to Jantar Mantar. However, the three leaders refused. When things didn’t work out the delhi police were forced to detain three from the plane.
Meanwhile, around 600 people have been detained by the Delhi Police. CJP has also claimed that YouTuber Dhruv Rathee has been detained from his home in Gurugram and the party’s legal head Ratna Singh has been detained.

Authorities have strengthened security around central Delhi, with barricades and restrictions introduced at several locations. Transport and mobile internet restrictions have also been announced in connection with the planned mobilisation. The Centre has deployed more than 20,000 personnel from Delhi Police and the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) to maintain law and order.
