It is an important day for every Indian. But what is the reason behind celebrating this day? Why was this date chosen? We all need to know these facts.
For this we have to go back to 1927. When the Simon Commission was formed. But no Indian was given a place. This decision upset the freedom fighters. During the uprising all over India, the slogan of ‘Simon Go’ was being shouted…. The English got scared…. And in the midst of this, the English officer Bergen Head said a strange thing…. Which affected the whole of India…. The Indians are stupid, they cannot keep their own government in their own hands. If you could, draft your constitution and transfer the governments…. Which freedom fighters of the time accepted.
A committee consisting of personalities such as Motilal Nehru, Tej Bahadur, Jawaharlal Nehru, Subhas Chandra Bose. But the British declined the Nehru Report of 1928. In the year 1929, there was another such gathering in Lahore. This time, all the country had united for Purna Swaraj. On this national holiday, a special parade is organized in Delhi. The soldiers of the land, air and navy participate. Important honors such as Ashok Chakra are awarded. A chief guest joins and greets every year. The world gets a glimpse of the art and culture of different states. Earlier, the Republic Day parade was not conducted on the highway. Till 1954, Republic Day was organized at the Red Fort and Ramlila Maidan. It has been organized on the highway since 1955. The first Republic Day parade in 1950 had Sukarno, who was Indonesia’s president at the time, as the featured visitor. In the same way, India invited Malik Ghulam Muhammad, Pakistan’s governor general, to be the parade’s main guest in 1955. Each year, India depicts its valor, power, and solidarity through the parade on January 26, and the whole world watches.
