Big Blow for Team India! Two Consecutive Defeats Hurt T20 Rankings
India Slips in ICC T20 Rankings After Losing Last Two Matches Against New Zealand: Team India started the T20 International series against New Zealand on a strong note, winning the first three matches. However, New Zealand bounced back by winning the last two games, preventing India from completing a clean sweep.
Although India won the series, the two consecutive defeats have affected its position in the ICC T20 rankings. The team was close to reaching the number one spot but has now moved further away.
Under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer, India had reached a rating of 269, matching England. One more win could have taken India to the top of the rankings. However, after losing the final two matches, India’s rating dropped to 267.
England remains at the top, while Australia is in third place with a rating of 260. India’s chances of reaching the top soon are limited as the team has no immediate T20I matches scheduled. India’s next opportunity will come in late December, when it plays a three-match T20 series against Sri Lanka.

Team India will now face New Zealand in a five-match ODI series starting November 4. According to the ICC ODI rankings, India currently holds the top position with a rating of 115, while New Zealand is second with 109 points. This means the world’s top two ODI teams will face each other in what promises to be an exciting series.
