Gold and silver became cheaper on the first day of March. Gold and silver prices have been declining for the last three days. On Saturday, gold prices were recorded to have fallen by about Rs 500. Similarly, silver has fallen by about Rs 1,100.
Today, the price of 10 grams of 24-carat gold in Delhi is Rs 86,980, while the price of 22-carat gold is around Rs 79,740 per 10 grams.

According to Bankbazaar.com, if we talk about silver, then the price of silver is declining. Let us tell you that the silver which was being sold at Rs 1,06,000 per kg in the bullion market of the capital Bhopal, Indore and Raipur on Friday, will be sold at the rate of Rs 1,05,000 per kg today.
Hall marks are given by the International Organization for Standardization to identify the purity of gold. 24 carat gold jewellery is marked 999, 23 carat 958, 22 carat 916, 21 carat 875 and 18 carat 750. Most gold is sold in 22 carat while some people also use 18 carat. The carat is not more than 24 and the higher the carat, the purer the gold.
24 carat gold is 99.9 percent pure and 22 carat is approximately 91 percent pure. Jewellery is made by mixing 9% other metals like copper, silver, zinc in 22 carat gold. While 24 carat gold is the purest, please note that jewellery cannot be made from 24 carat gold. Therefore, most shopkeepers sell gold in 22 carat.
