There are auspicious and inauspicious days and rules in the scriptures about washing women’s hair. There is a difference between the days when married women and unmarried girls wash their hair.

Unmarried girls must not wash their hair on Wednesdays. It might bring trouble to their brother.

Those who have younger siblings must not wash their hair on Wednesdays.

Normally, women bathe their hair on festive days, auspicious occasions, etc. But according to scriptures, women must not wash their hair on auspicious occasions or auspicious times. If you have to clean hair washing, then do it one day before the auspicious date.

As per scriptures, women must not wash their hair on Amavasya, Purnima, Ekadashi or even on fasting days. If you must wash your hair on this day for some reason, first apply raw milk to your hair, then wash.
