India will not allow others to veto its decisions, Foreign Minister Jaishankar

In Mumbai, Foreign Minister Jaishankar said that India will not allow others to ‘veto’ its decisions. He said that India will do what is right in the national interest regardless of any fear. Jaishankar said that when India becomes more deeply connected to the global consciousness, its results are really deep.

Many questions have been raised on the use of veto power, many countries also try to create pressure on its use. Regarding this, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has given a clear message without naming any country.

He said that India will never allow others to veto its decisions and will do whatever is right for national interest and global good regardless of any fear. Jaishankar said that India today stands at a crucial juncture. Where it is seeing new possibilities of development. However, some old problems still remain, which need to be resolved.

Speaking at an event in Mumbai, S Jaishankar said that when India becomes more deeply embedded in the global consciousness, the results are truly profound.

A lot can be learned from India’s heritage: Jaishankar

He said that in a world struggling with unhealthy habits, stressful lifestyle or frequent climate events, a lot can be learned from India’s heritage, but the world will know about it only when the countrymen take pride in it.

Jaishankar said that in the age of globalisation, technology and tradition will have to go hand in hand. He said that India will inevitably progress. But it will have to do so without losing its Indianness. Only then can we truly emerge as a leading power in a multipolar world.

Know what is the power of veto

The UNSC has the primary responsibility of maintaining international peace and security. Its powers include contributing to peacekeeping missions, enforcing international sanctions and taking military action based on Security Council resolutions. Currently, the five permanent members of the UNSC have veto power. Veto power means the ability to stop any decision. Understand it this way, if any one of the five countries wants to stop any decision, then it can stop that decision by using its veto power.
