The absence of blood will not be able to sustain a human. If circulation of blood is absent in the body, there would be no sign of life. But would you believe that there is a place in a human body where blood is not flowing? Except for the so-called ‘dead’ parts of cells like hair and nails, is there any part of the cell where blood does not circulate?
With science, one can see that the only living cell in the body that does not have a blood supply is the cornea of the eye. That is one part of the body that does not have a blood supply. Yet this organ is one of the most important organs in the body. One problem that exists with contact lenses is they reduce the oxygen supply coming from the outside. This, however may lead to neovascularisation (the process of new blood vessels forming, which can occur naturally or as a result of disease) of the lens if one has a permeable cornea, due to the penetration of the blood vessels into the cornea.
This has been totally minimized or eradicated with the new silicon hydrogel lenses. While some other parts of the human body, apart from the cornea, do not have blood flow; these include hair, nails, enamel of teeth, and the outermost layer of the skin, which one might not know.
