What is the history of Mughal Garden?
The history of this garden, which spreads over 15 acres, dates back to much before independence. The beauty of the garden is such that it is even called the ‘soul’ of Rashtrapati Bhavan. According to the website of Rashtrapati Bhavan, this Mughal Garden is inspired by the Mughal Gardens of Jammu and Kashmir, the gardens around the Taj Mahal, and miniature paintings of India and Persia. This garden was also designed by the same British architect who had the responsibility of designing the whole of Delhi. Sir Edwin Lutyens. The entire area of Central Delhi is still called Lutyens Delhi.

Amrit Udyan will remain open on February 2. The ‘Amrit Garden’ of Rashtrapati Bhavan will remain open till March 30. The opening time of the garden will be from 10 am to 6 pm. Tourists will enter the garden from Gate No. 35 of Rashtrapati Bhavan near North Avenue Road.
In addition, bus services have also been arranged for all tourists from Central Secretariat Metro Station. These buses will run every 30 minutes from 9:30 am to 6 pm.
