Avoid charging your phone in public places as much as you can. Cybercriminals use USB charging ports in places like airports, cafes, hotels, bus stands, and railway stations to commit fraud. Do not charge your electronic devices in such places or you will become a victim of juice-jacking cybercriminals. Juice-jacking can install dangerous apps on your phone that will work to defraud you. Criminals can steal data from your phone and demand money from you.

How to safe?

  1. Charge your mobile using an electrical wall outlet.
  2. Try to always carry your own cable or power bank with you when you are out.
  3. Lock your mobile using software security features and ensure that it is not connected to any other device.
  4. Public phone charging should only be used in cases of emergency or switch-off situations.

What won’t you do?

  1. Do not open email IDs, or online bank accounts while using public Wi-Fi.
  2. Do not use pirated software as there is a risk of malware. Connect only from valid sources.
  3. Do not attach emails sent by unknown centers.
  4. Do not disable your security software.
  5. Do not use invalid downloading sites.
  6. Maintain all important files in regular backup mode to recover from cyber attack situations.
  7. Install software like antivirus only from authorized providers such as websites like Playstore, and App Store.
