The bail petition of former ISKCON temple priest Chinmoy Krishna Das was heard today on January 2, in which the former priest has suffered a major setback. The Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court of Chittagong Court has refused to grant bail to Chinmoy Krishna Das.

Let us tell you that former ISKCON priest Chinmay Krishna Das has been arrested on charges of treason. Swami is accused of insulting the national flag of Bangladesh. These allegations were made against him when he placed a saffron flag on the national flag of Bangladesh in Chittagong on 25 October.
Violence after arrest–
He was arrested a month later, following which there were several protests and violent clashes. The confrontation culminated outside the Chittagong court building on November 27, in which a lawyer was tragically killed. ISKCON Kolkata reported that two of its monks, Adipurush Shyama Das and Ranganatha Das Brahmachari, were detained on November 29. They had gone to meet Chinmoy in custody.
