BCCI’s new strict rule: wives can’t accompany players!
BCCI’s new strict rule ,After the poor performance of the players, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has tightened its stance. While earlier family members and wives were allowed to accompany the players, now the BCCI has changed this rule. Now, during the Indian team’s foreign tour, their families will not be allowed to accompany the players. Family members are not allowed on tours of less than 45 days. However, if the tour is more than 45 days, family members or wives can join them. However, family members will not be allowed to stay for more than 14 days.
After Saikia took charge, the BCCI’s Apex Council meeting was held. The proposal was discussed in this meeting. The BCCI gave permission to the cricketers after they insisted on the presence of family members. Recently, the Indian cricket team lost two consecutive Test series. After a whitewash against New Zealand, the team lost 3-1 in the Border Gavaskar Trophy. Along with this, India failed to enter the final of the World Test Championship.
No player will be able to take his wife and family with him in the coming days. Several Indian players travelled to different cities with their wives during the Australia series. The players even travelled individually instead of using the team bus. This rule has made it mandatory for all players to travel in the team bus. The new rules are expected to create problems for senior players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Kohli stays with Anushka Sharma on most of his tours, while Rohit goes with his wife, Ritika. However, these players will have to face difficulties due to the change in the rules. On the other hand, there is a BCCI rule to spend 14 days with family, but the players have not responded to it.
