Bhagavad Gita and Natyashastra Enter UNESCO Memory of World Register , Narendra Modi Called It Proud Moment
Bhagavad Gita and Natyashastra – Today is a historic day for India. Bhagavad Gita and Bharat Muni’s Natya Shastra have been included in UNESCO’s Memory of the World Register. Union Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has been informed about this. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in a tweet that this is a proud moment for every Indian in the world.
‘A proud day for Indians’
The Prime Minister tweeted, “This is a proud moment for every Indian in the world. The inclusion of Gita and Natya Shastra in UNESCO’s Memory of the World Register is a global recognition of our timeless wisdom and rich culture. The Bhagavad Gita and Natya Shastra have nurtured civilization and consciousness for centuries. Their insights inspire the world.”

‘Historic moment for India’s civilization and heritage’
Union Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawati tweeted, “A historic moment for India’s civilization and heritage. The Shrimad Bhagavad Gita and Bharat Muni’s Natya Shastra are now included in UNESCO’s Memory of the World Register. This global honor reflects India’s rare intellect and artistic talent. These works are more than just literary treasures; they are philosophical and aesthetic foundations that have influenced India’s worldview and the way we think, feel, live and express ourselves. With this, 14 records from our country have been included in this international register.”
On Thursday, UNESCO added 74 new documentary heritage collections to the Memory of the World Register, bringing the total number of records to 570.
