The accident occurred on the road near Johannesburg’s main airport, O.R. Tembo. The bus was carrying people from Kettlehong, a township east of Johannesburg. Twelve bodies were recovered from the scene of the accident. This includes nine men and three women. The injured have been rescued and admitted to hospital.
Rescue teams reached the spot and the bus was straightened with the help of a crane. The cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained. Police are investigating the incident.
