Former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh breathed his last at the age of 92 while undergoing treatment at Delhi AIIMS last night. The Central Government has declared a 7-day national mourning on his demise. During this period, all government functions will also be closed.His last rites will be performed with all national honours. A cabinet meeting will be held today at 11 am to pay tribute to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Late last night, the mortal remains of Dr. Manmohan Singh were brought from AIIMS to his residence in Delhi’s Motilal Nehru Marg. At this time, senior Congress leaders including Congress president Sonia Gandhi and MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra reached Dr. Singh’s residence. Congress high command Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi arrived in Delhi from Belagavi in Karnataka late Thursday night. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi is likely to go for the last rites today.
