Purnia SP Kartikeya K Sharma said that Chinese garlic has been banned in India since 2019 because it contains excessive amounts of pesticides, which can be dangerous for human health. The police have detained a person in the case and the customs department has started investigating the seized garlic. Meanwhile, the police is interrogating the accused and further action will be taken after the interrogation.
