Daren Sammy, a former captain of the West Indies, was appointed head coach of the regional men’s cricket team in all forms on Monday. The announcement was made at the board’s quarterly press conference in St. Vincent by Miles Bascombe, director of cricket for Cricket West Indies.

He takes over as the red-ball team’s coach in place of Andre Coley. In a Windies Cricket post on X, the two-time T20 World Cup champion said, “It’s an honor to represent the West Indies in any capacity.” Sammy went on to say that he is prepared to take on the responsibility of supporting the Test team.
