It is being claimed that the symbols of Hindu faith like Lord Ganesha, Shiva-Parvati and Om are being seen for the first time on the coin issued by the East India Company. The year of its issue, 1818, is printed on the coin seen in the video.
The caption of the video posted on the social media platform Instagram from an account named Sufi Arora reads, ‘Have a look, I have seen such coins for the first time in my life… Goa’s fishermen were selling these ancient coins… they are very famous among the local community.’ In a video of just a few seconds, the shopkeeper is trying to sell old coins like ‘UK One Aana’ and ‘UK Two Aana’ for Rs 1200 to 1300. However, he agrees to give the coins for one thousand rupees to the people making the video.
