The Norwegian Road Federation (OFV) released a report on Thursday, according to which there has been a surge in electric car sales in the country. While 82.4 percent of EVs were purchased in the year 2023, 88.9 percent of electric cars were purchased in 2024.

According to a recent report in the country, the number of cars purchased in the country increased by 1.4 percent in the year 2024 as compared to 2023. 1 lakh 28 thousand 691 cars were purchased in 2024. Out of the vehicles purchased in 2024, 1 lakh 14 thousand 400 were electric vehicles.
Which brand sold the most?
In the year 2024, the most well-known brands dominated the Norwegian market, with Tesla selling up to 18.9 percent, followed by Volkswagen and Toyota, Volvo and BMW. Along with this, people’s inclination towards Chinese electric car brands has also increased. Sales of brands like MG, BYD, Polestar and Xpeng have seen an increase. Chinese brands have also been included in the top 15 brands sold in the country in the year 2024.
