Gujarat Titans Beats Sunrisers Hyderabad By 7 Wicket In IPL 2025
GT Beats SRH By 7 Wickets In IPL Match 19: Last year’s finalists, Sunrisers Hyderabad, continued their losing streak in the ongoing IPL. Gujarat Titans defeated the team by 7 wickets on Sunday. With the big win, Gujarat has registered its third win from the fourth match and has moved up to the second position in the points table. On the other hand, Sunrisers have remained unchanged at the last position after suffering their fourth consecutive defeat in the fifth match.
Hyderabad, once again facing a batting failure, set a target of 153 runs to win. Gujarat achieved it with 20 balls to spare thanks to a half-century from captain Shubman Gill (61*, 43 balls). After losing two wickets for 16 runs, bringing in all-rounder Washington Sundar at number four proved to be a masterstroke for Gujarat. Gill and Washington put on a 90-run stand for the third wicket to give Gujarat hope. Washington (49 off 29 balls) was out, one run short of a memorable half-century. Sarafan Rutherford then gave Gujarat an easy win with a smoky knock. He hit 6 fours and a spectacular six in his 16-ball 35*.

Despite having the strongest batting line-up in the competition, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s innings once again proved that the team lacks good coordination and a strong strategy. The team ended up scoring 152/8, below expectations, after playing too aggressively. Had captain Pat Cummins (22*, 9 balls) and fast bowler Mohammed Shami (6*, 2 balls) not scored 17 runs in the last over, the team was in danger of scoring less than 150 runs in a home environment. The two openers, Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head, perished once again at their power play. Thus, the base of the Sunrisers innings was crackly weak. After that, none of the batsmen in the team tried to play responsible cricket to fix the innings. But despite a good start, they could not negotiate the fine bowling of Mohammed Siraj (4/17) and bowled out well before finding their big scores. Even the famous Krishna (2/25) and Sai Kishore (2/24) capitalized on this scenario with two wickets apiece for Sunrisers batsmen.Surprisingly, Nitish Kumar Reddy’s 31 off 34 balls was the highest individual score for the Sunrisers innings. Gujarat Titans’ decision to put Sunrisers in to bat after winning the toss also proved to be very effective.
Brief Scores: Sunrisers Hyderabad 152/8 in 20 overs (Nitish Kumar Reddy 31, Heinrich Klaasen 27, Pat Cummins 22*, Mohammed Siraj 4/17, Sai Kishore 2/24, Pranam Krishna 2/25). Gujarat Titans 153/3 in 16.4 overs (Shubman Gill 61*, Washington Sundar 49, Serfan Rutherford 35*, Mohammed Shami 2/28).
