HMPV in India, After China, Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) has now entered India. Due to which the entire country is now in panic. After Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, now a new case has been seen in Mumbai. A 6-month-old child from Hiranandani Hospital in Powai, Mumbai, has tested positive for HMPV. This virus has now infected 8 people in India. Two cases have been reported in Bengaluru, Nagpur, and Tamil Nadu, and one case each in Ahmedabad and Mumbai.

Indians are also starting to panic due to the increase in cases related to this virus infection in China. Some people have started comparing the disease with Covid-19. Regarding this, Union Health Minister JP Nadda has said that HMPV is not a new virus.

The 6-month-old girl, identified in Mumbai, was admitted to the hospital on January 1 after she complained of cough, chest tightness, and her oxygen level dropping to 84 percent. After testing, it was revealed that the girl was infected with HMPV.

HMPV is a virus that infects the lungs and respiratory tract of humans. It causes conditions similar to the common cold or flu. HMPV infection is more common in people who are already sick or suffer from allergies.
