Six women to go into space on Blue Origin, Katy Perry on mission
Hollywood singer Katy Perry and Blue Origin’s all-female crew are preparing for space. There is a lot of talk about the all-women crew mission of American billionaire Jeff Bezos’ company Blue Origin. In this, a total of six high-profile women, including popular Hollywood singer Katy Perry, will go to space. For the April 14 flight on New Shepard, Perry will be joined by journalist Gayle King, former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, bioastronautics research scientist and civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen, filmmaker Kerianne Flynn and journalist and helicopter pilot Lauren Sánchez, who is engaged to Blue Origin owner Jeff Bezos.
Blue Origin’s female crew
According to Blue Origin, this all-female crew mission to space will be Blue Origin’s 11th manned space mission. It will be the first time since 1963 that a female mission will go to space. The women’s team will gather for a final training session at the launch site in Van Horn, Texas, a few days before the spacecraft’s launch on the 14th. This space mission of Blue Origin is called NS-31.
Katy Perry said about the mission, “I hope my trip will inspire my daughter and others to go to space.” Bezos’s future wife Lauren will lead the mission. She played a key role in putting together the female team. The New Shepard spacecraft will launch into space at 7 am on the 14th. It will reach the 100 km high Karman Line. After reaching the top altitude, the capsule will separate from the rocket. As a result, passengers will experience a few minutes of zero gravity. During this time, the six passengers will enjoy a beautiful view of the Earth through the six large windows of the capsule. The 15 cubic meters of space inside the capsule will provide passengers with a panoramic view. After reaching the highest point, apogee, the capsule will start to descend. Parachutes have been deployed on three capsules to slow the descent. After this, the rocket will automatically return to Earth.
