IAF First Woman Pilot Tanushka Singh created history . A new chapter has been added to the history of the Indian Air Force (IAF). Flying Officer Tanushka Singh has created history by becoming the first female pilot to get permanent deployment in the Jaguar fighter jet squadron. Tanushka Singh is originally from Uttar Pradesh. But she has been living in Mangaluru since 2007. Her entire family is associated with serving the country.
This is not only her personal achievement, but also another big sign of the increasing participation of women in the Indian Air Force.
First woman pilot in IAF to get permanent squadron assignment
Although some women pilots have flown Jaguar fighter jets during training, Flying Officer Tanushka is the first woman to be permanently inducted into this squadron. This fighter aircraft is known for its tactical strike capability and precision attack power in the Indian Air Force fleet.

Tanushka Singh wanted to join the Indian Army
Tanushka’s family has always been associated with serving the country. Her father and grandfather have served in the Indian Army, due to which she had the passion to serve the nation since childhood. Originally from Uttar Pradesh, Tanushka has been living in Mangaluru since 2007. She did her schooling from DPS MRPL School, Suratkal and then did further studies from Sharada PU College, Mangaluru. In 2022, she obtained a B.Tech degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology.
