Wrestler Vinesh Phogat to become mother: Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat and her husband, Somvir Rathi, have confirmed that they are going to have a baby. Vinesh announced on her verified Instagram page after she had announced her retirement from wrestling following the 2024 Summer Games in Paris. Vinesh and Rathi got wedded in 2018.
On Thursday, Vinesh shared a photo of herself and her husband and captioned it. In it, she said that their love story continues with a new chapter added to it. The caption also included a foot and heart emoji. On Instagram, the couple was wished well by fans and wrestlers Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia, among others.
In Paris at the 2024 Summer Olympics, Vinesh became the first Indian female athlete to qualify for an Olympic final. But controversy soon struck as the 30-year-old was announced to be 100 grams overweight on the last day and disqualified from the entire event.
Vinesh will then post a message in Hindi on his official X account, where he declared that he is retiring from his career.
