ISRO NEW RECORD

ISRO NEW RECORD,  cowpea seeds germinated in space . Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has done a new success .  They have achieved great success in germinating cowpea seeds in space. At the same time, all the scientists hope that soon leaves will also come out of the seeds. With this, ISRO has taken an important step towards studying the growth of plants in low gravity.

Actually, this experiment of ISRO will help scientists to understand how plants grow in space so that it can be of great help in long space operations. ISRO informed about this success through a post on social media.

Seeds were sent into space on 30 December

He said that life begins in space!  VSSC’s CROPS (Compact Research Module for Orbital Plant Studies) experiment was successfully conducted on PSLV-C60 POEM-4. The cowpea seeds germinated in four days and leaves are expected to emerge soon.’ Let us tell you that these cowpea seeds were sent with the Spade X mission on 30 December 2024 with the PSLV C 60 rocket.

The ‘Compact Research Module for Orbital Plant Studies’ (CROPS) experiment developed by Vikram Sarabhai Space Center (VSSC) has taken an important step towards studying the growth of plants in microgravity i.e. low gravity. Actually this experiment was launched on the POEM-4 platform of PSLV-C60 mission, and under this, cowpea seeds have been successfully germinated within just four days, and now leaves are expected to emerge soon.

The Compact Research Module for Orbital Plant Studies (CROPS) aims to understand how plants grow in space, which could be important for crop production in future long space operations.
