Congress members created a ruckus on the issue of atrocities against women in the state. Two MLAs, Jayanarayan and Tara Bahinipati, got into a fight during the question and answer session. Finally, Speaker Surama Padhi declared the House adjourned till noon.

Before the assembly proceedings began today, Congress MLAs staged a protest outside the house. Then they came to the middle of the house and created a ruckus on the issue of atrocities against women. While Urban Development Minister Krishna Chandra Mohapatra was answering, Jayanarayan Mishra and Tara Bahinipati got into a scuffle. As a result, the Speaker declared the House business suspended.

After this, the Congress MLAs sat under the Gandhi statue in the Assembly building. Tara said that BJP MLA Jayanarayan Mishra got angry and first grabbed his collar. BJP members started pushing first. The BJP government has disrespected democracy. Tara said that the Speaker is running the House by force.

Similarly, BJD MLA Arun Sahu said, “This has never happened in the history of Odisha. Jayanarayan-Tara get into a fight in first time odisha assembly .The ruling party has run the assembly by force. Jayanarayan grabbed Taraprasad by the collar and dragged him away.”
