The Indian science fiction film “Kalki 2898 AD,” starring Prabhas, is set for release in Japan on January 3, 2025. The film will be distributed in Japan by Twin, a company led by industry veteran Kabata Keizo, who previously brought S.S. Rajamouli’s “RRR” to Japanese audiences. Prabhas has been actively marketing the film ahead of its release in Japan.
“Kalki 2898 AD” is a Telugu-language epic science-fiction action film directed by Nag Ashwin and starring Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani. The film, released on June 27, 2024, grossed over ₹1,100 crore worldwide, making it one of the highest-grossing Indian films of the year.
The Japanese release aims to build on the growing popularity of Indian cinema in Japan, following the success of films like “RRR.” Fans in Japan can look forward to experiencing “Kalki 2898 AD” in theatres starting January 3, 2025.
