When will ‘Kannapa’ be released?
The film’s new release date has been set for 27 June 2025, after the film was shelved due to delays in its post-production. Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, the film is inspired by the story of Kannappa, a devoted devotee of Lord Shiva. The story is about an atheist hunter named ‘Kannapa,’ who becomes a devotee of Shiva and becomes immersed in his devotion. Where he sacrifices his eyes to pay homage to the god. Vishnu Manchu plays the lead role of Kannappa.

Kannapa Starcast meets Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath
Sharing the post on X, Taran Adarsh wrote, ‘Vishnu Manchu’s pan-India film ‘Kannapa’ has a new release date: 27th June 2025. The makers have officially announced the new release date during a special meeting with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Ji. During a visit to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s office, Vishnu Manchu, Mohan Babu, Prabhu Deva and Vinay Maheshwar presented a picture and other gifts to the chief minister. The Chief Minister signed the poster of the film and congratulated it for its success. The film stars Akshay Kumar as Lord Shiva and Kajal Aggarwal as Goddess Parvati. Mohanlal and Prabhas will be seen in cameos. Sarath Kumar, Madhu and Brahmanandam are in the lead roles.
