Kedarnath: The doors of Kedarnath will open on May 2nd . Baba Kedarnath’s shrine will open. This year, the doors of Kedarnath will open on May 2. The date and time have been decided on the occasion of the holy Mahashivaratri. The day and time for opening the doors of Mahadev Baba Kedarnath have been decided.
This divine work will be started at 7 am on May 2nd and the Charidham Yatra will begin from that time. Baba’s procession from the Omkareshwar temple at Ukhimath will reach Kedarnath on May 1st and the gates will be opened on the morning of May 2nd.
However, the shrine of Baba Kedarnath, known as the eleventh Jyotirlinga, remains closed every year during the winter season. The shrine remained closed for six months due to heavy snowfall. The Kedarnath shrine was closed on November 3 with all the rituals and religious traditions. It is worth noting that this year, the Charidham Yatra will open its doors to Gangotri and Yamunetri Dhams from April 30. Online registration for the yatra will be from March 11. So this time 60 percent online and 40 percent offline registration will be done. Offline registration will be done 10 days before the start of the trip. And online registration will start from March 11. Online registration will be done on the official website of the Uttarakhand government registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in.
20 offline registration counters will be opened in Haridwar and Rishikesh and 15 in Vikasnagar. No VIP darshan will be allowed one month before the yatra. All devotees will have to perform darshan only through normal procedures. The date for opening the doors of Badrinath Dham was fixed as per the traditional custom at the Narendra Nagar Rajdarbar in Tehri on the Panchami of the fifth day of the Magh Shuklapa, i.e. Basant Panchami.
