Hyderabad suffer hat-trick defeat: KKR win by 80 runs
KKR Defeat SRH By 80 Runs In IPL 2025 Match 15: In the 15th game of the current IPL, the previous season’s champions, Kolkata Knight Riders, won against Sunrisers Hyderabad by an immense margin of 80 runs. In this match played at Eden Gardens, Ajinkya Rahane’s side made 200 runs with an excellent batting. In return, Pat Cummins’ side couldn’t handle Vaibhav Arora and Varun Chakravarthy and lost by 120 runs. Besides Heinrich Klaasen, Kamindu Mendis, and Nitish Reddy, no other could take the field. Kolkata, therefore, jumped to the upper half of the points table after its second victory in four matches. Hyderabad, on the other hand, after its initial win through Ishan Kishan’s century, suffered a hat-trick of defeats, following in the footsteps of failure.
Kolkata Knight Riders, after losing the toss, bottomed out at 16/2 in two and a half overs. The duo of Quinton de Kock (1) and Sunil Narine (7), the opening batsmen, were out against Pat Cummins and Mohammed Shami. The team’s remaining four batsmen, skipper Ajinkya Rahane (38 off 27 balls), Angakris Raghuvanshi (50 off 32 balls), Venkatesh Iyer (60 off 29 balls), and Rink Singh (32* off 17 balls) brought the team to 200 runs. Hyderabad’s last five overs’ 78-run challenge was difficult to handle for the team. Sammy, Cummins, Zeeshan, Harshal, and Kamindu each took one wicket.
